Why is my sign not illuminating correctly?
When you think of the phrase “neat freak,” which person or character comes to your mind? For me, I think of Danny Tanner from the family-friendly sitcom Full House and Monica Geller from the smash hit show Friends. Both individuals had a keen eye for tidiness throughout their respective series, and everyone knew it.
For example, there’s a specific episode of Full House that showcases Danny’s obsession with cleanliness. It was spring cleaning day, and he made sure the whole family was up at 7:00 a.m. sharp to participate.
In an episode of Friends, Ross, Monica’s brother, dated a woman who had quite the messy apartment. Monica was informed of its state, so after they broke up, she offered to clean the apartment for her. It might not have been well-received, but the fact that Monica made an effort speaks volumes about her need for clean.
Sure, they’re fictional characters, but their desire for things to remain clean and tidy isn’t too far off from some people’s preferences today- even in the signage industry.
There are many reasons why a sign could not be illuminating correctly, whether it is made of channel letters or is a cabinet or box sign. One possibility that shouldn’t be ruled out is its lack of cleanliness. Sometimes it’s noticeable, and other times it isn’t.
That leads me to ask a question:
If Danny Tanner or Monica Geller saw your dirty sign, how would they react?
It’s pretty likely that they would unleash their inner “neat freak,” and offer to clean it for you. Or, they might attempt to unsuccessfully hold in their opinions. Either way, I’m certain they’d have some thoughts to share.
But, they’re in luck, and so are you.
